two x four believes that design matters, and that people are central to design matters.
here’s why.
. . .
we are a design company specializing in the design and creation of meaningful structures, spaces & objects for everyday living.
our services include:
DESIGN CONSULTANCY
We approach our projects with an understanding that design is the art of balancing the creation of impactful spaces with the constraints of time, budget & functionality. Great projects must not only contextualize the past & the present, but also forge ahead to create a more sustainable future. Our studio has worked with clients spanning across the residential, hospitality, retail, technology & government sectors within both the private & public-space realms.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Our approach is to foster an environment of transparency, collaboration and accountability among all stakeholders. We deploy various methods to ensure each team member understands how to maximize the full potential of their role, from the engineer to the labourer. By setting a common goal we guide all stakeholders to actualize the project’s vision.
BUILD
From years of being intricately immersed in the local maker & manufacturing scene, we’ve translated our knowledge into a catalogue of design-build structures, office & outdoor furniture, and high-end cabinetry.
. . .
with roots in kenya, canada & the caribbean, two x four’s principals are continually inspired by both local & international philosophies, forms & materials.
their collective education & experience in interior architecture | design, systems design & project management spans 27 years & across 4 continents.
Kwekwe is an interior designer with a mathematics and physics background. Her master’s degree in interior design, coupled with a science background feeds her obsession with bringing order and logic to the design process, form and action. When she is not designing, she spends her time obsessing about ingredients, recipes and the art of cooking.
Jeremy is an interior designer with a computer science and project management background. His post graduate studies in urban planning and his previous background encourage him to relish in creating structures and systems that bolster the creativity & design process. When not designing, he’s often found digitally traversing the globe fueled by his obsessions with cartography & urban forms.
